Why Honors

Research Experience

Research is at the heart of the honors experience, giving students the opportunity to ask original questions, work closely with faculty and contribute new knowledge at a large, public-research university. Whether in a lab, studio, archive or community setting, honors students develop and hone critical thinking and problem-solving skills to guide them throughout their academic and professional journeys.

Why Honors

Global Education

Honors students broaden their worldviews through study abroad programs, international internships and global research opportunities. Whether studying business culture in India, health policy in Sweden or ecology in Antarctica, scholars gain cross-cultural experience and a deeper understanding of the world’s complexity. To support these transformative opportunities, the Honors College provides generous funding to make global education both accessible and achievable.
